Hey guys!  Fall is finally here and I’m so excited!  One of my favorite ways to give my home an instant makeover this time of year is with throw pillows. I seriously can’t get enough of some good throw pillow decor! Don’t believe me? Then check out my Pinterest, haha! They’re the perfect way to add layers, color, and texture to your home. Which is perfect, because fall is all about adding that extra cozy.

With so many options out there, knowing what seasonal throw pillows to choose for your home can be a little tricky. So, I thought it would be fun for us girls to have a little pillow talk (get it?!) today and chat about this season’s throw pillow trends that will give you and your guests all the fall feels.

Ready?  Let’s do this!

Houston lifestle blogger Uptown with Elly Brown shares the 5 biggest throw pillow trends for Fall 2018 that are perfect for the upcoming holiday season.

5 Biggest Throw Pillow Trends for Fall 2018

All of these throw pillow trends are amazing.  But this first trend is one of my absolute favorites.

1) Velvet and Texture

Velvet has definitely made a comeback recently.  It’s in everything from clothing to home decor. Which I personally love. So, if you’re wanting to add a little luxury to your home this fall, velvet throw pillows are where it’s at.  But, if velvet really isn’t your thing, then you’re in luck because there are tons of fun textured throw pillows out there right now that can easily elevate the design level of your home. Recently, I found some textured throw pillows for our master bedroom renovation, and am completely obsessed!

2) Cottage Style Stripes

Want an easy breezy sort of feel in your house this fall? Then using throw pillows with cottage style stripes are what you should try because stripes always give off that welcoming vibe.  Whether you are putting these pillows in your bedroom or on your living room couch, you’ll instantly create a fun and carefree vibe in any space that you use this trend.

3) Global Prints

It’s no secret that global and mudcloth prints have been huge, and I mean HUGE this year.  If you’re wanting to add just a touch of color or some unique prints to any space in your home, this is the way to do it. Plus, with most of the colors being more on the neutral side, mudcloth and global print throw pillows go great with any natural wood elements you may in your house.

4) Buffalo Plaid

I seriously love this stuff guys. Haha! For some reason, this print has a way of making me instantly feel all warm and cozy with its bold pattern and seasonal colors. So, if you’re goal is to make people instantly want to curl up somewhere in your house with a cup of coffee and a good book, then this is definitely the throw pillow trend for you this year! I recently found some on Amazon and I’m really impressed with the quality as well!

5) Leather, Faux Fur, and Wool

If your more of a modern girl, then leather and faux fur throw pillows are perfect for you. Both of these elements have been on trend for a while now, but they never seem to go out of style.  Plus these options transition great into winter. So, if you don’t want to buy new decor items again in just a couple months, this is a great option for you.

This year I’m all about using throw pillows to make a big impact in my home decor this season.  How about you? Hope y’all have so much fun getting your home ready for fall this year!

I love the velvet and textures are in! Velvet is basically my favourite material in terms of both decor and clothing when the weather gets colder. 🙂

We’ve all sat down on that couch that is so packed to the gills with throw pillows that you feel like you’re being shoved into a bag of marshmallows. This is not the situation you want to create, so if you have to ask if you have too many, take on or two away!

A great post I come across late. Kudos to the blogger. The pillow trend is not limited to a particular season, it happens throughout the year. The five ways described here are really incredible. If a choice is given to me, I will opt for the cottage style stripes and the velvet and texture. Yes, I always give more importance to looks. However, I cannot ignore the comfortness of the items as it’s the primary reason for us to use it.
